A Thought on Staying in Touch

Published by mclaughlin_sm at 9:42 pm under Uncategorized Edit This

I got thinking today about what the best way to keep in touch with your family is. There’s phone calls and visits and everything in between. My favorite is the in person contact, but when you live five hours away that ‘s not always a possibility.  Also, there’s the fact that since the Olympics, I’ve been stuck on Beijing time, while the rest of the east coast obviously isn’t. I have found a very old fashioned solution to the problem though.

I love sending greeting cards. They can be from the dollar store or from Hallmark. I love ones with unique sayings and I enjoy making my own. They’re the most inexpensive way to let those that you love know that you’re thinking of them. It keeps your relationships thriving, and let’s face it, who doesn’t like getting mail? Even e-cards work. I’ve sent a few to my mom in the past. They’re just a great way to say hi and stay in touch, and it doesn’t take much effort.  And when it all comes down to it, don’t these little efforts do the most good in the long run anyway?
